For Rebecca, a 63-year-old health coach battling two autoimmune GI disorders, the journey to optimal health has been a lifelong struggle. Having experimented with different diets over the past 45 years, including vegan, keto, and paleo, she found herself in a constant struggle with weight fluctuations and persistent cravings. Even though she found some success with a strict paleo diet, she still struggled with weight gain and inflammation until she discovered the carnivore lifestyle.
Rebecca explains. "My curiosity prompted me to research a way of eating that contradicts most of what I'd been taught.... and I couldn't be happier that I did.
As someone who cares about making sustainable choices in what she eats, Rebecca was at first unsure about whether the carnivore diet could work for her in the long run. However, after looking into it and trying it out herself, she soon realized it was the real deal.
Transitioning to the carnivore way of eating brought about significant changes for Rebecca. "The first obvious change was the loss of inflammation," she shares. "I dropped 3 lbs of fluid from all over my body, and it felt amazing!"
But the benefits didn't stop there. Rebecca noticed improvements in her gut health, skin appearance, energy levels, and overall well-being. "My body composition changed more than it typically would for the same number of pounds lost on other diets," she notes. "I'm building muscle and strength easily, and my energy remains stable throughout the day."
Rebecca attributes much of her success to understanding her "why" behind adopting the carnivore lifestyle and educating herself about its principles. She emphasizes the importance of connecting with a supportive community, such as the GoCarnivore Community, for guidance and encouragement along the journey.
While Rebecca acknowledges that her journey has been relatively smooth compared to some, she credits the invaluable support she received from coaches like Christina for addressing any challenges along the way. "One coaching call with Christina helped me with the few issues I was having," she recalls.
Today, Rebecca is thriving both physically and mentally. Embracing the carnivore lifestyle has not only restored her health but has also opened doors to new experiences. "I've been exploring aerial silk lately," she shares excitedly. "It's something I never imagined I could do at my age, but here I am, feeling stronger and more vibrant than ever."
Looking ahead, Rebecca draws inspiration from individuals like Maggie, a Canadian rancher who epitomizes vitality in her 80s. "I hope that as I continue with carnivore, I might look as good as she does in my 80s," Rebecca reflects. "The body has an amazing ability to repair itself if given the proper nutrition. I truly feel like I'm getting a bit younger every day."
